Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all moving services provided by Koray Umzug GmbH, hereinafter referred to as the “Contractor”, to private and business customers, hereinafter referred to as the “Customer”. Conflicting or deviating terms of the Customer are not recognized unless the Contractor expressly agrees to them in writing. These terms also apply to all future business relationships, even if not explicitly agreed again.

A contract is only concluded upon written order confirmation by the Contractor or upon commencement of service performance. Quotations of the Contractor are always non-binding and subject to change. The Customer is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all information provided when preparing the quotation. Changes to the scope of services require written confirmation by the Contractor.

Prices are based on the price list valid at the time of contract conclusion or on the individual written quotation. All prices are exclusive of statutory VAT. Fixed-price quotations apply only to the agreed scope of services. Additional services resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the Customer are charged at the valid hourly rate. Material costs (boxes, foil, adhesive tape) are not included in fixed prices unless explicitly agreed.

The scope of services is defined in the written quotation and order confirmation. Services not expressly agreed, such as disassembly, assembly, cleaning or special tasks, are charged separately. Unless packing services are agreed, the Customer is obliged to prepare goods properly for transport. Heavy items above 80 kg, safes, pianos and similar special goods must be declared separately in advance.

The Contractor is liable for damage to transported goods caused by proven fault of its employees up to the current value of the damaged item. Liability for indirect damages, loss of profit and consequential damages is excluded. Undeclared special goods, self-packed goods, valuables and documents are excluded from liability. Damage must be reported in writing immediately, no later than 24 hours after delivery.

Invoices are payable net within 10 days from the invoice date without deduction. In case of default, default interest of 5% p.a. will be charged. The Contractor is entitled to retain transported goods until full payment is received (right of retention). For cash payment on moving day, a 2% discount is granted if expressly stated in the quotation.

Cancellation of a moving order up to 7 working days before the agreed date is free of charge. For cancellations between 3 and 7 working days, 30% of the agreed price is charged as compensation. For cancellations less than 3 working days before the date, 50% of the agreed price becomes due. Cancellations must be made in writing by e-mail or registered letter; the date of receipt is decisive.

Damage to goods must be reported to the Contractor in writing immediately, no later than 24 hours after completion of service. Later reports are generally not accepted. Damaged items must be preserved until claim settlement and may not be altered or disposed of. Photos and evidence (purchase receipts, pictures) must be attached to the claim.

The exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms and related contracts is Zurich. Swiss law applies, excluding conflict-of-law rules. For consumers, this only applies insofar as no mandatory statutory provisions provide otherwise.

If individual provisions of these Terms are or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid one that most closely reflects the economic purpose of the invalid provision. Amendments and supplements to these Terms require written form. These Terms replace all previous versions.
