Piano Transport – professional and reliable with Koray Umzug GmbH
Service focus
Piano transport Zurich – a specialist with equipment, experience and insurance
A piano or grand is not only a valuable piece of furniture, but a precision instrument that reacts sensitively to vibration, temperature swings and improper handling. For piano transport Koray Umzug uses only trained specialists with suitable equipment. Prices and process: piano transport costs in detail.
We use specialist roller boards for grands, padded covers for uprights and – in particularly difficult access situations – furniture lifts for entry via windows or balconies. Every piano transport starts with an advance check of access and space.
After transport we recommend allowing the instrument one to two weeks to acclimatise before it is tuned. On request we put you in touch with a certified piano tuner near you – so that your instrument sounds at its best after the move.
Transport is covered under our public-liability and goods-in-transit insurance; for storage we also recommend checking your household or stored-goods insurance.

FAQ about Piano Transport
Does a piano need to be retuned after transport?
Yes, as a rule a piano should be retuned after every transport and after an acclimatisation period of 1–2 weeks. We recommend not starting immediately on the day of arrival.
Can you transport a piano to the fourth floor without a lift?
Yes. With enough crew, specialist roller boards and, where needed, a furniture lift, that is also possible. The advance visit is important so that the ideal entry route can be set.
How heavy is a typical piano?
Upright pianos weigh between 150 and 350 kg depending on size; concert grands up to 500 kg. Our crew is specialised for these weights.
Is transport over longer distances possible?
Yes. We also transport instruments across cantons or throughout Switzerland. For longer distances we use climate-controlled vehicles.
What does piano transport cost?
The price depends on instrument type, distance, floors and access. After a short advance survey we prepare a binding offer.
